Brightness temperature contrasts estimation of the high and middle level clouds in short millimeter waves

Abstract

The contribution of clouds in the upper and middle tiers of the value of brightness temperature measurements of downward atmospheric radiation at an altitude below the cloud was estimated. For measurements at a height of 1 km the liquid-drop contribution of clouds in the transparency windows was 33–47K, the contrast in the transparency windows for crystal clouds was only 0.1–3K.
